roshan is a beacon of hope for refugees in indonesia, providing a safe and nurturing space for them to pursue brighter futures through education. founded with a strong mission, roshan offers comprehensive educational programs tailored to the unique needs of children, youth, and adults in the refugee community.

the center's core programs include:

๐Ÿ’ซ foundations program (6-17 years) - designed to equip children and youth with foundational literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills through daily classes and a social-emotional learning curriculum. currently, this program serves 50-60 students across various age levels.

๐Ÿ˜Š elite open school (eos) (13-18+ years) - in partnership with eos, roshan provides a u.s. accredited, blended learning school for grades 6-12, leading to a u.s. high school diploma. this program offers a pathway to a formal u.s. high school degree for students, with roshan being one of only two refugee learning centers in indonesia to do so. the eos program supports over 30 students with a comprehensive curriculum and dedicated teachers and mentors.

๐Ÿ’ฏ ged prep program (18+ years) - a test preparation program for adult students, leading to a u.s. ged high school equivalency diploma. this program aims to open access to higher education and vocational opportunities through an internationally recognized high school certificate, providing volunteer mentors, weekly classes, and testing facilitation to 60-70 adult students.

making an impact: how roshan transforms lives ๐ŸŒฑ

roshan's work has a transformative impact on the lives of refugees in indonesia. every day, roshan helps these individuals overcome the challenges they face due to the country's non-signatory status to the 1951 refugee convention.

by offering invaluable programs, roshan is building a sense of hope and community for refugees, who often find themselves in a state of limbo while they wait for resettlement.

๐ŸŒŸ building a supportive community where refugees, indonesians, and other foreign nationals encourage, serve, and learn together

roshan's greatest accomplishment lies in fulfilling their mission as an organization: providing a safe learning space where refugees find hope in community and pursue brighter futures through education. ๐Ÿ’–

through their dedication and tireless efforts, roshan is making a real difference in the lives of refugees in indonesia, empowering them to overcome obstacles and reach their full potential, one student at a time. ๐ŸŒฑ

overcoming challenges & looking to the future ๐Ÿš€

like any organization, roshan faces its own set of challenges as they strive to make a difference in the lives of refugees in indonesia. some of the key challenges include securing sustainable funding, adapting to changing needs within the refugee community, and navigating the complexities of the local context.

despite these challenges, roshan remains dedicated to their mission and is constantly looking for ways to grow and adapt to better serve the refugee community.

they are excited to continue forging partnerships with people from all over the world, who share their passion for making a positive impact.

as they look to the future, roshan aims to:

๐Ÿš€ expand their educational programs and reach more refugees in need

๐Ÿš€ build stronger partnerships with local and international organizations

๐Ÿš€ raise awareness about the plight of refugees and the importance of education

๐Ÿš€ continue to foster a supportive, inclusive community where refugees can find hope and a sense of belonging
